Doomsday Knits Kickstarter

I realize most of the people who read this blog probably found it through my other blog, and therefore probably already know about this. But...just in case.

I am curating a book! A book of post-apocalyptic knits! Things like, hats for the nuclear winter, or boot socks for maximum zombie-fleeing comfort, or sleek space-age tops to see you through the robot uprising.

And we want to make this book really. damn. awesome. We are hoping to shoot it at places like the Alvord Desert, and this abandoned nuclear power plant. And by we, I mean me, our excellent photographer, and some badass models wearing some badass costumery.

All of those things, of course, cost money. We have a publisher who covers costs like layout and printing, but we've got to raise money for the shoot: hence, a kickstarter!

So far things are going well, and I'm very hopeful that we'll meet our minimum goal and maybe even exceed it a little (which truly would be great, as $5000 really is the minimum- travel and photography get very expensive!)

Please consider checking it out, even just to get a better idea of the project :-) We've got some great prizes for donors (though many of them are sold out already! Holy crap!) And even if you can't donate it, I'd love it if you could share the link- facebook, StumbleUpon, Pinterest, any way you see fit! Every little bit helps. And yes, I feel somewhat wormy asking, but my enthusiasm for the project counteracts that :-) We've got great designers working on great projects in great yarn, now we just need to make 'em look as good as they are and bring 'em to you!

  1. This is really fun and exciting. I wish I wasn't so busy with school and so cash poor to get involved. It's really firing up my imagination tho, best of luck with it!!

    1. I know, I haven't had time to work on anything but knitting in ages :-( It's not gone forever, though, I promise.
